Of all the possible businesses, why did you choose network marketing as a business?

    It was really a combination of timing and availability. I found myself unemployed as an Executive, living in a small town, not wanting to move again, pondering what I could do for a living to replace my income. I had been a consultant before and knew I could do that again, but living 20 miles from the nearest Wal-Mart, any consulting either would require a lot of travel, or another move, AND, I didn't want to swap time for money again. I was looking for a way to best leverage my time. So, while in research mode, I stumbled across network marketing and, past the hype, there appeared to be a nugget of truth - and a promise. The truth was that this was an unlimited opportunity - if I could master it, and the promise was that if I did master it, I could replace my income in a reasonable amount of time within the boundaries I had set.

Was your business an "instant success" or did you experience challenges along the way?

    The only "instant" success I can think of is contained in that song with the line, "... you had me from hello!" My biggest challenge was setting my "executive" image aside and reorienting my mind to the reality that I wasn't an unemployed executive, I was a professional, full-time network marketer. Once I changed my mind as to who I was, I could focus on those things necessary to success: learn and do. When I rolled up my sleeves, set my sites on becoming a Certified Marketing Consultant (which I considered an absolutely essential step toward success in this industry), the milestone toward success was so clear that attainment was simply a matter of the goal being worth all the action necessary to achieve it.

How does Leaders Club fit into your business model?

    Leaders Club IS my business model! I've accomplished many things in my life, but none of them made me any money. By contrast, learning to be a professional through those actions I've learned in Leaders Club absolutely will. For all I've done in my life, none of it taught me those things that would become my future. I've simply learned what Leaders Club teaches about this industry and how to be successful in it, then put what I've learned into action consistently with a positive attitude.

What advice would you give to someone serious about succeeding in this industry?

    We live in a complex, complicated world; a world of chaos, confusion; things happen out of our control; companies bought and sold, people fired, downsized, out-placed, etc. In such a world, the only security you have is you! You are your retirement plan. That being the case, the question for each of us is, "What can I do to make a living and take control of my time, finances and life?" Hands down, network marketing is that solution - if you're willing to become a professional. Robert Kiyosaki, author of ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’, calls network marketing the "...perfect business!", in his book, ‘The Business School for People Who Like Helping People’. The only path to professionalism in network marketing is through the tools, methods, philosophy, motivation and camaraderie that is Leaders Club! Perhaps Albus Dumbledoor said it best speaking to Harry Potter in the movie, ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’, "It’s our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are far more than our abilities.”
